> Czukay edited 'Movies' out of tape-snippets, as other musicians would construct a composition out of notes.

Through endless treatments and thousand of cuts, Czukay brought all those fragments into a new compositional form.
At the end of the 80's this became more and more routine, escpeciall for those groups producing dance- and rap-records and that stored sounds and instruments through sampling. In 1979, however, this was something completely new.

By using pre-recorded tape, Czukay could play every instrument he desired and also he had complete control over all other musical and technical questions.

'Movies' is still regarded an extraordinary and influential record." <
