Edgar Froese [Tangerine Dream]:

> So we went up on stage, and one of us started with a soundscape maybe, or sometimes with a flute, or someone surprised us by kicking in with the rhythm right at the beginning, and then things started to converge and everything ran together - or it didn't converge at all; it was a total adventure.

It was just like somebody telling you 'You're gonna jump from this plane, but I won't tell you if you have a parachute on your back or not'.

That was a form of risk that we probably would not be willing to take today, but it was part of the philosophy of the band back then, and the tracks were played through without mercy. <
